In addition to performing, making new friends was also on Hailey's agenda when she first came to AYT. She's happy to report that she's met a lot of new friends and has worked with an amazing director and crew. They taught her a lot. Not only has she learned from her performing experience, but also from her performing group, Glee Minor. She's learned how to project when speaking and singing, and how to work with all kinds of people. Although her favorite part of class is performing with all the new friends she has made. Hailey would definitely recommend AYT because it's an amazing place not only to learn, but just to be.
Hailey's mother has seen the affect the AYT has had on her daughter. Since starting theater at AYT, Hailey's had a huge jump in confidence. Her mother now sees a spark and light that radiates out of her. Because of theater, Hailey is not afraid to talk in front of a group and is learning to work with all kinds of people. Not only that, but she's seen a significant growth in Hailey's singing skills, acting skills, and "people" skills - skills that will carry her through all stages of life.
Hailey's mom loves seeing her baby up on that stage, all lit up and excited, to the point that it brings tears to her eyes. She also loves the adults and role models Hailey works with at AYT. Volunteering as a backstage wrangler has been one of her favorite theater experiences; it helped her get to know the other kids and have a deeper appreciation for what AYT does for everyone. She truly knows that these adults care about the children. Everything is clearly explained. The fact that Hailey loves it and can't wait to be at the theater all the time speaks volumes. She tells everyone about AYT and how much they love it.
AYT loves you guys, too!
